The importance of effective communication in the workplace cannot be understated. Our verbal and non-verbal communication are critical skills in every successful workplace—at the team and employee level. From knowing how and when to de-escalate tense situations to dealing with a difficult employee to enhancing your emotional intelligence, learning how to communicate clearly and professionally is key to organizational growth, productivity and positive relationships.

In this interactive workshop we will address the following to help increase communication effectiveness:

• Discover that listening skills are the number one communication skill employers look for and why
• Understand how good listening skills positively impact our verbal and nonverbal communication
• Discuss the barriers to effective listening-what keeps us from really listening and why
• Learn about the most common bad listening habits, which ones we may have and how to correct them (oh, we all have some)
• Let’s talk assertiveness- asking for what you need and want while being heard
• Learn simple tips to help de-escalate difficult conversations.
• Discover how to ask for feedback and listen to feedback to improve our communication with others and better understand ourselves
