De-Escalation, Conflict Resolution and Situational Awareness |
Course Description: Engage people more effectively, dealing with conflict, especially at work. What can I do when things escalate? What steps can I take to protect myself? Communication skills are essential for successful public service employees. When engaging with the public involves some sort of crisis, these encounters can quickly escalate. This course seeks to provide public service personnel the tools, skills, and options they need for successfully de-escalating crisis incidents. This course explores topics including self-regulation, verbal and non-verbal communication essentials, and becoming emotionally intelligent and situationally aware so people can respond effectively to others in crisis.
