ONSOLVE CodeRED is a service available through a contract with MVCC that enables municipalities to contact their citizens and deliver specific instructions for how to deal effectively with emergencies. This service provides residents with useful and timely information regarding natural disasters, hazardous spill situations, public health, weather, and missing person notifications.
- ONSOLVE CodeRED delivers notifications by phone calls to landlines and cell phones, emails, texts, social media, and/or mobile alerts
- ONSOLVE CodeRED is compatible with TDD/TTY devices for those with hearing impairments
- Individuals and businesses may add as many phone numbers, emails, and text numbers as they’d like
The ONSOLVE CodeRED system uses GIS and database technologies and a high-speed dialer to allow public safety officials to select a population, create a message and deliver the message to the affected populace. This system quickly alerts the public to emergencies that require immediate action (such as a boil-water notice, missing child, or evacuation notices).
If you are currently an ONSOLVE CodeRED subscriber that has already registered your mobile phone to receive notifications from the {City/County}, you will continue to receive calls. However, if you download the ONSOLVE CodeRED Mobile Alert app, you will also be able to receive alerts via your smartphone anywhere in the country, including Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Alaska. To download the free ONSOLVE CodeRED Mobile Alert app, visit the Google Play or iTunes store. For more information about the ONSOLVE CodeRED service, contact: {City/County POC information}

History
Miami Valley Communications Council is a municipal communications and technology organization representing the eight member cities of Centerville, Germantown, Kettering, Miamisburg, Moraine, Oakwood, Springboro and West Carrollton. The council also has affiliate agreements with other Miami Valley cities. MVCC was formed in 1975 as a council of governments to monitor, regulate, and administer common cable television franchise agreements, manage the operation of the council's cable access television channels, and develop and implement intergovernmental projects designed to strengthen communications between member cities and their citizens. A policy-making body consisting of delegates representing member cities governs the council.
Funding
MVCC is funded through franchise fees paid by the cable service provider. Franchise fees are rent that the cable company pays for placing its wires over or under the public rights-of-way (streets.) MVCC uses these franchise fees to support its community access television activities, cooperative intergovernmental projects, and to explore new and changing technologies that will benefit member communities. The council, in turn, provides many services to our communities at little or no cost.
